Tequio is a concept I learned in Oaxaca, walking hand in hand with communality and community.
Community work is done to maintain the paths and roads of a town, to clean and prepare the land of a plot, to plant corn, to clean the path of a river...
Whatever is necessary in and for the community happens in tequio, and it is from this concept, which I find so beautiful, that I open this space.

Tequio is this online sales space for artisan creators, whose work I admire and who, without a doubt, have changed my life for the better.

Alejandra Salgado inaugurates this digital space.

Comprehensive designer from the Design School of the National Institute of Fine Arts.
She currently works at the San Agustin Arts Center in the felting workshop.

She is a mother, sister, friend, and artist, and this is her work. Wearable art on felt that portrays elements of Mexican culture, seeds of identity such as cacao, corn, chilies, mushrooms, and prickly pear cactus. Also timeless symbols such as celestial bodies, human organs, and animals.

Don't hesitate to contact her if you want any of her works - which you can see on her Instagram account - or ask her to work her magic with a particular concept.
