In Between is a Collection of Utility Objects designed in collaboration between María Mariscal and Taller de Obsidiana. We decided to design objects for everyday use, our inspiration arises from everything that is born in the midst of something as "simple" as sitting at the table. Lapidary and Goldsmithing interact with each other, as if they were two people, generating agreements and dialogues between Materials and Craft Techniques. Each object has its own name, because we believe in the importance of relating, and like the materials, starting a dialogue, generating agreements and strengthening the ties that unite us.
This 2018, Mexico City was selected as the World Design Capital, and to celebrate it we decided to design something new that would take us to other territories. This is how IN BETWEEN was born.
This time we ventured into the design of utilitarian objects, with a collection consisting of four plates, four cutlery, cutlery holders, a butter dish, a napkin holder, a coffee cup, a glass, a jug, a salt shaker, a pepper shaker and a candle holder.
We invite you to discover the complete collection and 75 more projects that were presented for the Inedito byDesign week call at the Tamayo Museum until October 21, 2018.
The collection will be for sale from our website, only on request.
